The Story
About The Preparer
My name is Prawin Antony, and I started The Tax Returner because of a moment many newcomers to America experience—but few are prepared for.
When my family and I fled war and arrived in the U.S. in 2022, we were focused on safety, stability, and starting over. But when I received my very first paycheck, I was stunned. A large portion had gone to Federal Income Taxes, Social Security, and Medicare. I had no idea what these deductions meant—or how they were calculated. That confusion sparked a journey.
I began to study the tax system, learning everything I could about forms, income types, deductions, and credits. I filed my first return that same year—and when the IRS accepted it and issued a refund, the feeling was unforgettable. I realized: this knowledge was empowering—and I wanted others to experience that same clarity and confidence.
The Tax Returner exists to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their financial future. We don’t just file taxes—we educate. We don’t just prepare returns—we empower people. From recent immigrants to rideshare drivers, our goal is to ensure that no one misses out on the opportunities this country offers—because of language barriers, financial confusion, or lack of access to trusted guidance.
I treat every return with the same care I give my own. My approach is personal, respectful, and always centered on your needs and goals. I speak English, Hindi, Ukrainian, Russian, Tamil, Malayalam, some French, Arabic, and Latvian, so clients can speak freely and be understood in the language that feels most comfortable. I don’t just want your business—I want your understanding. My hope is that in 4–5 years, you’ll feel confident enough to file your own return if you choose. That’s real empowerment. I am a big believer in God and I trust that He is the ultimate story writer. I bring biblical values to serve with compassion, and a deep sense of purpose.
